Multiscale Heat & Fluid Flow Lab
The Multiscale Heat and Fluid Flow Laboratory (MFL) explores fundamental and applied research in heat and fluid transport. We develop novel experimental techniques previously unseen, perform advanced numerical simulations for the design and analysis of high-performance thermal-fluid systems, and create fast and precise flow analysis tools powered by artificial intelligence. Through these efforts, MFL remains at the forefront of innovation in thermal and fluid sciences.

Current Research
MFL leads pioneering research in advanced flow visualization, AI-driven thermal-fluid analysis, and hemodynamics-based cardiovascular diagnostics and treatment. Our work includes the development of magnetic resonance velocimetry (MRV or 4D Flow MRI), drag reduction technologies, machine learning-based flow prediction, and smart hemodynamic indices. These innovations are applied across diverse fields, including extended submarine operations, MRV-guided structural optimization of thermal-fluid systems, and flow noise reduction in vehicles and household appliances.
